I was born and raised in Peru and moved to the U.S. in 2014 after completing medical school, driven by a desire to continue my training in a country known for its cutting-edge research and medical education. As a first-generation immigrant, I understand how life transitions, cultural shifts, and identity changes can deeply affect our mental well-being. I believe that with the right support, grounded in compassion, curiosity, and connection, people can find resilience even in the most difficult moments.
My background gives me a deep appreciation for integrative care. In my culture, alternative and complementary medicine has always held a place of value. I strive to blend the best of both worlds: evidence-based medicine and time-tested healing approaches tailored to each patient’s needs and values.
Psychiatry became personal for me early on. Growing up alongside a sister with OCD taught me how complex and misunderstood mental illness can be, and how essential it is to listen without judgment. Years later, after becoming a mother myself, I experienced postpartum anxiety. That chapter of my life not only shaped my passion for women's mental health but also deepened my empathy for those navigating the hormonal and emotional rollercoaster of motherhood.
Today, I bring all of these experiences into the room when I meet with patients. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, and where we can work together to create a plan that feels right for you.
