Meet Dr. Laura Fredes

Dr. Laura Fredes is a Board Certified Psychiatrist whose journey began in Peru, where she developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultural perspectives on mental health. She completed her psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital in New York City, one of the most diverse training environments in the country.

“As a wife and mother, I bring a personal touch to my professional life, emphasizing strong patient-provider relationships. I am particularly passionate about women’s mental health and the treatment of perinatal and perimenopausal mental disorders.”

After completing her training in 2022, Dr. Fredes founded MindMED Behavioral Health in Southlake to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive psychiatric care. She sees every patient herself and takes the time to truly listen, understand the full picture, and build a treatment plan together. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
